We teach our students to be more than compliant; we teach them to want to do the right thing.

This desire comes from the relationships that are built between our staff, students and their families. As trust develops within these relationships, students are able to let go of the defenses they have developed and look at their self-defeating behaviors in a more objective way. As they are guided through this self-reflection, these relationships provide a safe place for students to try out new behaviors and experience positive results.

These relationships are formed in a combination of treatment environments. Many programs focus on one primary environment for the majority of their treatment, such as wilderness or therapeutic school programs. At Woodland, we have taken the best of these treatment environments and created what we believe is an ideal model. Through family living, wilderness experiences and top notch schooling students are exposed to a variety of both familiar and unfamiliar settings.
